What to take to the Hospital

So the big task of packing my hospital bag has been on my mind lately. I am thinking of doing it sooner rather than later just in case, because you really never know when babies decided to come into the world!! I did some research on what in the world would be a great idea to pack and here are my for-sure items that I will have!!

1) My Columbia sweater. You know hospitals can get cold and it will be either December or January so it will definitely be cold outside! Plus, it is just comfy to wear around!

2) Pair of flip flops! Easy to take on and off!

3) Robe. This one explains itself!

4)Yoga pants/leggings! These are already the most comfortable thing to wear pregnant or not pregnant! These would be easy and comfy to wear around (which I will probably be wearing most of the time I have off of work as well!)

5) A good nursing bra! You know this is a smart idea with all of the feedings that will be taking place!

6) My pillow! I am picky about pillows as it is! (I normally take one whenever we travel and stay at hotels too!) Bringing my own will make me more comfortable!

7) Toiletry bag!! This is a MUST have! Toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, q-tips, travel shampoo/conditioner, some minimal makeup, etc.!!!

8) A good towel from home! You never know what type of quality the hospital towels will be!

9) My camera! This is self explanatory! I will be taking tons of pictures for Blaze and I forever so why not start there! :)

Wedding Hair: I have narrowed it down to these four hair styles for the wedding! It is easy and flowy. My hair isn't super long and I don't really want to get extensions. Which one do you think is best?

Waterproof Mascara $5.99- I love Great Lash mascara! This mascara is perfect for the pool because it IS waterproof and goes on easy!

Gillette Fusion $8.99- Not sure about you ladies, but I would WAY rather use a guys razor than the girl ones!! I think they work better!! But Gillette Fusion makes great razors!!

Batiste Dry Shampoo $5.99- Love this when I dont have time (or feel like) washing my hair! Definitely does the trick!! And this comes in different bottles for different hair colors!

Summer Beauty Favorites

Im SO ready for summer and the pool and our secret honeymoon destination!! Here are some of my summer beauty favorites!!summer beauty favorites

Summer Beauty Favorites

1. Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes-LOVE these wipes. They contain no perfumes and are great for sensitive skin! They take off all of your makeup including waterproof mascara!! They are super cheap and come in a 25-count pack!!

2.Essie Boom Boom Boom Nail Polish- I can't go without nail polish in the summer! It always has to be a shade of pink! I LOVE Boom Boom Boom's color!! So fun and summer-y! (And everyone loves Essie!!)

3. Not Your Mothers Beach Babe- This stuff is amazing! Just spray, let it dry a little and go!! Gives you that great beach hair look!! It has salt in it so it helps give the beachy, curly look for me!!

4. L'Oreal Paris Sublime Self Tanning Lotion- I absolutely love this stuff!! It gradually tans you (faster than most) and gives you a great glow!! Super affordable and makes your skin feel super soft!!

5.L'Oreal Quick Dry Sunscreen- I just really like L'Oreal's products!! They make a great sunscreen that I would recommend!! Doesn't feel gross after you spray it on at all!

6. Waterproof Mascara- Everyone needs a good waterproof mascara for the summertime! I really like sephora's waterproof mascara. Makes my lashes look great and stays on all day!

7. Makeup Setting Spray- This stuff is awesome for after you apply your makeup. It gets super hot down here in the south, so we tend to sweat off our makeup sometimes! This just helps keep everything settled!

Bachelorette On My Mind

So the bachelorette party is 108 days away and I am getting more and more excited about it!! My WONDERFUL MOH is planning everything and Im not sure of everything that will happen that weekend. We are going to Austin and staying in a cute house though, it will be neat to have all of us gals there in the same place for the weekend!! (There are a couple that can’t go that I really wish could come L but I understand!!) I have been trying to find cute dresses for that weekend—I am really wanting a cobalt blue dress! I have a few tank tops that color and I really love that color on me (I think because of the blonde hair/blue eyes thing I have going on haha). I REALLY like the sequin one… what do yall think??Cobalt Blue Dresses

Wedding Wednesday: Hairstyles

Wedding hair is a difficult decision!! I started thinking about what the heck that I want to do with my hair lately and I have no clue. I see so many cute hairstyles on pinterest that I would LOVE to try. Most of the styles that I see, my hair isn't long enough for, so I would need to get extensions. Here are some of my favorites that I am thinking about!!

If my hair was longer, i would LOVE this
half up wedding hair

This is the length of my hair right now and these are both simple but pretty!!

These two I would need longer hair for also!

Thursday Rant..

My dad and I were talking last night about frustrations with our society lately. If you have an opinion, it seems as though you aren't being given the freedom to express it without being called homophobic or racist or discriminating, etc. People get so offended by taking things WAY out of context and seem to be looking for an argument. Why is one side entitled to their opinion but the second you go to give yours, you are labeled something negative? It just doesn't make any sense.

Today I saw a couple articles on this exact topic. I'm sure most of you have heard of the 'Fit Mom' on Facebook. If not, this is a picture of her and her THREE kids just simply asking "What is your excuse?"
PHOTO: Fit Mom, Maria Kang

She started the page to try and motivate moms to become educated on healthy living and showing their kids the same healthy lifestyle. She wrote about stats of high child obesity rates etc. Well people were writing the rudest things on her page saying that 'normal women dont look like this'.. 'Looking how they do is perfectly fine'.. etc.

I totally agree with her when she said she believe people are celebrating unhealthy habits and they make excuses for those-many moms using the excuse that they have kids.

I LOVED reading her posts though, she is a great example of just because you are a mom, that doesn't mean that you necessarily have to embrace and accept the normal weight gains that come along with it. I think she looks amazing and is a great role model in getting fit with not just one kid but THREE!  I think more women should try harder, not just for their husbands, but for themselves and for their kids.

The other article that I read was about a transgender athlete that is sueing Crossfit by saying that they are refusing to let him compete in the womens division at the upcoming Crossfit games. He is legally recognized in California as a women, but I mean come on, let think about anatomy here... That is just SO NOT FAIR! "She" was still born as a man, with man muscles, man build. etc.. Any and every day, that would beat a women in crossfit, not because women aren't strong, but men are and always will be, stronger. It is what it is.

Well this 'women' and her supporters are saying that isn't right and they should let 'her' compete with the other women. And since they are saying that 'she' has an unfair advantage, she is now demanding 2.5 million dollars to "make things right"... well this is what the Crossfit board had to say..

'"Our decision has nothing to do with 'ignorance' or being bigots -- it has to do with a very real understanding of the human genome, of fundamental biology, that you are either intentionally ignoring or missed in high school."

"She cant really get offended, it is what it is... you were born a MAN and you definitely would have an unfair advantage over any women competing..."

People have turned issues into such touchy topics... whether it is religion, politics, sexual orientation, etc.. what happened to the days where you didnt take things SO personally and just looked at things for facts or just let people have their own opinions and just left them alone? Why does EVERYONE have to have the same opinion on these issues? Isn't that why America is supposed to be such a great country? We can all have our OWN opinions and NOT be discriminated against or labeled something negative for it. I don't get what has gone wrong... but it is frustrating.

I am a Christian, always have been and ALWAYS will be. I live my life the best that I know how, I try and treat people equal and I try to not judge for whatever life decisions they may make. I believe in a traditional marriage but I don't hate those that don't agree with me. I believe blacks, whites, hispanics, asians, etc. are all equal and we are all given the same rights when we are born, now whether one decided to do great things or not is their own choice. Do I make mistakes? ABSOLUTELY. But why do I get yelled at and called negative names for believing in God and being a conservative republic who is Pro-Life & who agrees with a traditional marriage/family and who thinks that when you work hard, you should get rewarded, not punished? I'll never know

Honeymoon Tuesday

IT'S MARDI GRAS DAY!! AKA, I have a day off so I have been working on our taxes!! Go me... NOT!

I decided to take a break and, of course, got on Pinterest!! So addicting!! Since we have less than 5 months until the wedding, I have been looking at honeymoon outfit ideas. Blaze won't tell me where we are going until we get to the airport, but I know it is a beach somewhere. Here are some of my favorites:

The Glam Series

Love Always Nancy J

My hair care routine has been the same forever!! I LOVE John Frieda's hair products. He makes great, reasonably priced hair products for blondes (and for everyone else). His blode shampoos/conditioners help keep that brassy yellow out of my hair longer!! So if you haven't tried them, you should! Since I am trying to grow my hair out, I try to not blow dry & straighten my hair much, so I use the unwinding curls from John Frieda! It keeps my frizz down but lets me keep subtle curls instead of crazy ones!! I do LOVE quickly, lightly straightening with my Chi (will never use another straightener). Then I always finish with my Nexxus Finishing hold. This isn't hairspray, but comb through spray! AMAZING

BACHELORETTE PARTY!!

So my wonderful best friend and maid of honor has been busy planning the bachelorette party!! I hope July hurries up and gets here already!!! We will be going to Austin, TX and the plan is to get a condo so we can all be together!! Some of us (that can take Friday off work) are going down early. We are thinking of doing a half day wine tour to start things! Then wait for the other girls to get there that night. Just lay low that first night and let them all get to know each other (most of them know each other but there are a few that don't). Then Saturday, we are going to do one of those pole workout/dancing private classes!! It will definitely take everyone out of their comfort zone which is what I want (me included)! Probably go out to a nicer dinner and then out for the night!! Im super excited to have all of my best friends together for a whole weekend!! WOOHOO!

Here are some cute pictures that I found on pinterest!
